XDL is available in two flavors: a PHP portal or a Java portal. Pick your poison:

Our PHP site features a basic calendaring system for a single course. Some of the features include:

  • User Role Management: Administrator, Instructor, Student
  • Monthly, weekly, daily calendar views
  • Batch loading and exporting of events
  • Calendar Search
  • Low footprint

Note: The PHP site requires a MySQL Database.

Our initial Java implementation is based on the Java Lobby Community Project (JLCP), a Jakarta Struts based J2EE Portal. We have been working closely with the JLCP team to develop a simple, feature-complete portal. JLCP offers a number of features including:

  • Calendaring System (soon iCal compliant!)
  • Forums
  • Link Management
  • File Uploads
  • Buddies and Messaging

As JLCP nears completion, we will be offering a JLCP install taylored for eductational use. You can check out the latest JLCP version (0.5.0) on our test site.
